thats a platinum series.
at least it dosent have those gay ass speedloaders on it like all the new nj's.

toggletoggle post by Aegathis  at Dec 9,2004 11:07pm edited Dec 9,2004 11:08pm
I'd say its pretty sharp lookin, and aint i too fond of the beast.

toggletoggle post by whiskey_weed_and_women  at Dec 9,2004 11:09pm
they have one of those in the Natick, Mass GC but it's red

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Dec 9,2004 11:17pm
ugh, platinum series BC Rich's suck. i played a platinum warlock for years; i think i paid less for the guitar itself than all the work i had to have done on it. booooo! and yeah, those speedloaders are definitely stupid.

i take it he probably spent more money on the genz head, ehh?

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Dec 10,2004 12:03am

I don't really dig the sound of the el diablo, not enough gain.

the rgt42 is an excellent 'bang for your buck' guitar. just stick some good pickups in there and you got a real winner. one of the only decent production models ibanez makes in my opinion.

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Dec 10,2004 10:38am
I play an Ibanez RG series -- totally dig it. I have the stock pick-ups in it, but the Line 6 full-stack helps that out.

toggletoggle post by korpse at Dec 10,2004 10:42am
i'm looking for a new guitar myself. I've played gibson all my life but i've been digging how the jackson plays. i want to stick to an american made guitar but american jackson's are too expensive. anyone have any suggestions?

so are gibsons.

toggletoggle post by blue nli at Dec 10,2004 10:45am
i have a japanese jackson (sl4), almost as nice as the american, except without the fretboard/headstock binding, and with a liscensed floyd instead of the real one. still has the duncans and the neck through. i got mine for 900, worth every penny. ive beat the crap out of mine for 2 and a half years and it stills plays as fantastic as the day i bought it.

toggletoggle post by korpse at Dec 10,2004 10:46am
eh, not really compared to jacksons, atleast i don't think. i had an sg special, 800.00 bucks. i don't think i could find an american made jackson for that much. I played a soloist slsmg the other day. thing plays great, not too crazy about the sound but still, that was even 800.00 bucks and it was jap.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Dec 10,2004 10:51am
real gibsons are over $2,000

toggletoggle post by korpse at Dec 10,2004 10:52am
maybe i don't know what a real gibson is. can you tell me?

toggletoggle post by korpse at Dec 10,2004 10:57am
i mean, i know my guitar did say made in america. and it did say gibson. on the head stock. epiphone's are the only fake gibson i know of. they're made in korea or japan or something like that. of course some gibson's can get pricey though.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Dec 10,2004 11:00am
well, I mean you can buy cheap jacksons too, but I'd say the higher end jacksons are much cheaper than high end gibsons.

look at a musicians friend, like 95% of the gibsons are like $2,000, 3,000, 4,000.

toggletoggle post by blue nli at Dec 10,2004 11:02am
gibsons are highly overrated in general. along with prs.

why pay 3000 bucks for a guitar that youre only getting 1500 in quality?

buy esp or jackson. the bang for your buck is mind boggling.

What is that, a king v?

toggletoggle post by blue nli at Dec 10,2004 11:08am
darn tooting.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Dec 10,2004 11:10am
for some reason I like the PC-1's... I'm getting old.

toggletoggle post by paganmegan   at Dec 10,2004 11:11am
I have always wanted to add a king v to my collection but I bought one only a few months ago, so I'm gonna have to wait until tax return time

are you speaking of the phil collen model? if so, i dont think theyre that bad, besides the neck bolt and the dimarzios.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Dec 10,2004 11:18am
yeah blue, the finish on those is mind boggling...I really don't mind that it's bolt on...I think the next guitar I get will be bolt on, I want a nonpainted neck to play.

toggletoggle post by korpse at Dec 10,2004 11:25am
i played a used jackson (american) dk1 at guitar center the other day. I was blown away by the sound and how fast it was. but somebody beat the absolute shit out of it and they wanted 900 for it.

When I was 14 my parents gave me my first electric guitar, and it was red and called the shredder... (HAHA) that thing sucked so badly, I learned all about soldering wires in guitars that year, the cheap piece of shit

toggletoggle post by Christraper at Dec 10,2004 12:01pm
My iron bird is a bolt-on and i love the way it feels and sounds. ive had it for years so its a bit worn in which might have something to do with it. Plus i added a bunch of new hardware to it since its from the eighties. The neck is alot like a strat. I think the bolt on neck adds to the warm tone.

toggletoggle post by Christraper at Dec 10,2004 12:02pm
i used to have a terminator

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Dec 10,2004 1:30pm
I wanna get an Ironbird too
!
I love those fucking monstrosities.

To the guy looking for a jackson or gibson...check out esp ltd mh 400 or 300 if u can find one....or the schecter 006 is nice too if you dont need a Floyd.

the one I want is just like yours....yours is a rgt42 black pearl I beleive...the one I want is exactly the same but flamed maple top.....and ya, Ill prolly throw in my first EMG 81. Ive tried to stay away from them because active pickups are a pain in the balls, but Ive heard one without and theyre very bright. too bright for me.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Dec 10,2004 1:34pm
I will never buy another bolt on for more than 250 bucks tho. the esp spoiled me on that .

toggletoggle post by porphyria603   at Dec 10,2004 9:38pm

Paid no more than 3 hundred for my used Jaskson Jdr about 3 years ago, i still love it

toggletoggle post by ArrowHead  at Dec 10,2004 11:23pm
Being a lefty, I rarely get to play any decent guitars. I've never played a jackson that wasn't a piece of shit. Never played a BC Rich that wasn't a piece of shit. Of course, what store is going to keep a $1000 lefty hanging around? I play a gibson which is the best guitar I've ever played. However, I've never seen anything comparable to it in a store in the 10 years since I bought it, so again Gibson is capable of making crap just like all the others.

you can't link to an image on your computer, if it was an 'online' link from a site it would.

By the way, in regards to people saying Gibsons are overpriced: Years ago the company tried lowering prices to the $400 to $800 range. Their saled immediately dropped. After hiking the price back up to around $1400, the sales went up again. Sometimes price and perceived value dictate what we pay a lot more than corporate greed.
