Just wanted to inform people who missed it and wished they had gone that it was an awesome show! The club it was held in, the Thunderdome was two floors and on the second floor you could look down onto the stage from a huge open area. I was only there for the first two nights, but that was enough for anybody. Here's a list of the bands that kicked ass, in my opinion:

Saprogenic--first band that i got to watch all the way through--really heavy, brutal

Mortal Decay--their last show with original bassist. Although i don't really like John P.'s vocals, he did a great job that night and they destroyed the place with a cover of Napalm Death's "Suffer the Children" off Harmony Corruption. Classic!

Malignancy--the black sheep of the death metal underground..had probably one of the best sounds of the show. Very tech, brutal and Danny's hysterical comments between songs made their set an event in and of itself

Dying Fetus--missed most of their set. Great musicians, those new guys. The room went nuts for Praise the Lord off Destroy the Opposition

Skinless--I know there are alot of anti-skinless posts here, but they once again proved their strength as a live act. Longstreth's drumming was right on track, but nothing incredible.

Devourment--brutal pit--interesting to note as i had a bird's eye view of the pit, all hardcore kickers got beaten as soon as they let one kick fly, no shit! I expected more from this band, the way people prattle on and on about them. Ruben sounded great, but they just seemed to lack a stage presence for a band so popular with the fans. Still though, a highlight.

Lust of Decay--missed all but one song by the NC metallists, but the one song I did catch really blew me away. Incredibly brutal, fast and devastating for a relatively new band. Great cd, too!

Aborted--although I'd heard stuff of their previous album and didn't care for it, i decided to watch their set and was devastated by their crushing heaviness. Very professional, great sound and they stole the show from bands that are alot more popular.

Last but certainly not least, SUFFOCATION!! For those of you at the NE Fest, you'll be slightly jealous to know that they got to play a full set, and then an encore (Breeding the Spawn). They played for about an hour and it was just so fucking great that nothing could ever compare. These guys are the kings and they have most certainly not lost their touch. Original drummer Mike Smith shined through the set, effortlessly slaying all the favorites. New guitarist Guy Marchais proved a worthy successor to Doug Cerrito. Terrence Hobbs--what can you say about the guy who invented brutal death metal with the classic slam riff from Liege of Inveracity? Frank Mullen was totally sick on vocals and seemed genuinely blown away and flattered at the type of music his band helped create and the respect his band has earned over the years. Everyone in the whole place was rivetted by Suffocation's set--I'd say there was somewhere around 600-700 people there and every single one of them were just spellbound at the band's triumphant return.

Well, that's about it. Great fest and I hear that it will be held annually from now on.

Rev--no wonder you're pissed, Aborted dominated that place.
