toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 14,2003 12:08pm

what side of the stage is he usually on?

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jul 14,2003 12:15pm
ive seen the locust the last 2 years that they've come up to Mass. Last years show was probably the WORST show i've ever seen in my life minus the Locust's performance. 3 hours worth of spock haircuts, fake glasses, and Arab on Gaydar. I swore to myself I'd never go again.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 14,2003 12:21pm
so I'll see you there?
I heard if you don't have a mod doo, they don't let you in.
time to get the black elvis wing, I guess.

toggletoggle post by babysbreath   at Jul 14,2003 2:51pm
i didnt go for one reason, and that is the haircuts. those faggots... i have shaggy hair, but you dudes spend more time in front of the mirror than my 14 year old sister

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 16,2003 9:37am
oh, I'm soooooo going to win at bingo

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Jul 16,2003 4:02pm
i'm still debating on where to meet you...

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 16,2003 4:05pm
who are you debating with?
and if the answer is "yourself" then who wins?
I'm guessing the people watching and laughing.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Jul 16,2003 4:09pm

I'm back. though some aids-mobile tossed a water-filled McD's cup at me while I was getting in my car after the show. Yeah, douches, I remember when I just got my license and did that.
call me when you get pubes.

I'm working on the pictures, give me a few.

les georges leningrad: huggy bear meets 28 days later and 1/2 the songs were in french. I really only heard the english like "smelly asses" and "I lost my voice"

kill me tomorrow: 3 piece, all singing. it was ok arty-punk. The drummers mic was cut out and the guitar players mic didn't work, I don't think.

sinking body: ok, how relaxing was that? Anyone standing up was hating themselves. Thankfully, I was sitting and zoning in and out of consciousness. A blissful nap time.

the chinese stars: ok, can you say everyone hyping them and them me getting disappointed? I’m officially old cause I totally did not understand that. I guess people liked it cause they clapped a lot.

the locust: ok, the reason that everyone went. They came out in their green-locust space suits and actually wore them for the whole time. Impressive as it was a million degrees in that place. After a quick sound check, they came on. It was simply amazing. They wow’d the crowd with un-countable songs. Do the math, 35 minute set, > 1 min songs. They are touring in support of their new cd “Plague Soundscapes”.

I was fore warned about the supporting bands, but how can you pass up the locust?
Here is a list of bands that the locust should recruit to play with them:
  • Cream abdul babar

  • Unpreson

  • The_network

  • Mercury switch

  • Love lost but not forgotten

  • Ex-pg99

  • Ed gein

  • the rise

I saw the Locust both nights they played here in NYC and I was very impressed, especially with the opening acts.

Kill Me Tomorrow rules. The Chinese Stars deserve the hype. They really are fucking awesome. Second time I saw them and better than the first. Les Georges Leningrad are great too. I'm sure everyone wrote them off as a shitty gimmic band, but their songs are a lot of fun and their outfits/schtick is ever changing. Not the same shit every night.

I didnt see Sinking Body. Ex Models, Young People and Numbers played instead. Of course, this was all split up into two shows.

And none of those bands should open for the Locust. They dont generally play with all out insane bands. They play with bands they like, and sitting through post punk, art rock and new wave stuff before they go on is a really cool, considering the Locust just stands out 100%.
