Try and find a free download of an earlier version of Cakewalk Pro Audio, converting a WMV to an MP3 there is easy and it's where I've always done it.

Yup, here's what you do if you're able to find a free version of Cakewalk:

Go to the Insert Menu and click on Wave File, once the track has been imported, go to the Tools Menu and click on Mixdown Audio then Export To File. When it asks you the type of file, change it to MP3.

Cakewalk is way too complex of a program to use to convert files.

i've used cakewalk to do multitrack midi arrangment, but i've never converted files with it.. (although I kinda always knew you could, that program can do all sorts of weird stuff.)

yeah, Switch Plus Audio Converter works great for retards like me. wow, it's really easy. that's great. i'm going to start throwing my CD collection on my computer (it'll be a hobby cause it'll take way too long to do). i always hated how it automatically saved to WMV format. now i can just change it to MP3 format like that! bawllzzzzzzzz thanks joshatesme

oh yeah, i just figured out how to convert files using just WMP. it's pretty easy. now there's a tab how good the quality you want it. obviously i want the best quality. i guess the better the quality, the more space it takes up. but i don't care how much space because it's all going to my external hard drive. but i wonder if you could really notice the quality? i know for sure i could notice the quality between wmv and mp3 though. it goes anywhere from 128kbps to 320kbps. i put it at 256kbps. why does everything have to be so confusing on the pczzzzz?
