Hahahaha.

I love all the spellings of this monster's name. One of my bands, an industrial one, was named for Ghidorah with the 'o' but we just changed our name.

I love how you can see the strings in the poster

He was always my fave of the bunch

I miss Creature Double Feature (on Channel 56)

My passion for King Ghidorah (or Ghidrah, Monster X, however you want to say it) is eclipsed only by my passion for Anguirus, the most underrated Toho monster ever.

haha, didn't you ever wonder where 3 Headed Monster got our name from?

All the variants:

Ghidrah
Ghidra
Ghidora
Ghidorah
Monster 0

King Ghidorah is the correct official Toho spelling.

Anguirus can also be called Angillas.

I wouldn't say he was underrated, he appeared in Godzilla Raids Again, Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla '74, (plus cameos in a few of the other 70s movies) and was brought back to be in Godzilla Final Wars and he had big roles in all of them.

Most underrated were Varan (which is why he has 3 Headed Monster song named after him haha.), Titanosaurus, Hedorah and Megalon.

I really should take pics of my Godzilla collection and post them. It's really disgusting how big it is. I'm a total geek for this stuff.

None of that had Anguirus in the title though :( And that is what I mean by underrated. He can burrow under enemies and hurl himself off his tale, impaling his target with a wall of spikes...and he was always getting bitched up by the other monsters.

Oh well, at least I get to roll everyone with him in the video games.

well, if it makes you feel better, the original title Godzilla Mothra King Ghidorah: DaiKaiju Sokogenki was going to be Godzilla, Angillas, Varan: Daikaiju Sokogenki.

It makes me feel a little better.

But only a little.

Didn't Manda the stupid snake even get its own movie? Anguirus was robbed.

toggletoggle post by Cecchini   at May 22,2006 10:13pm
no, Manda was in Atragon and got wasted by the Gotengo. Atragon was based around the war ship Gotengo(Atragon in America usually) and it's fight against the Mu Empire.

Then he came back in Final Wars last year.... and once again got wasted by the Gotengo haha.

I just bought Atragon for 13.99 and have not watched it yet. Is this a coincidence?

Manda was also in Destroy All Monsters, getting stepped on for a few seconds. What a pussy.

There is a cool 'deleted scene' from DAM, when all the monsters are attacking Tokyo, Godzilla randomly goes over to Manda and starts grappling with him. The actor playing Godzilla thought it would be funny to wrestle Manda as a joke on the set, they still filmed it and obviously tossed it out. It can be found on some bootleg tapes as a bonus.

I think your thinking of when at the end they all stopped on Ghidorah's head until he spit some blood cause Manda didnt do all to much in the movie.

What was Manda, a sock filled with paper mache? Anguirus has SPIKES damnit!

For real though, I am glad there is someone so knowledgeable about these monsters here. You a Gamera fan too? I collect those.

haha dude, I've been into Godzilla since I was like 9 and never mentioned cause I figured I was the only one. I've tried where ever I could to toss Godzilla references into our 3 Headed Monster stuff (including our name haha.), like we got songs like Beast of Odo Island, Varan, we had one called Nuclear Pulse that lasted like a day haha. I need to get around to recording all the metal versions of Akira Ikfube pieces I know.

I'm into Gamera for the sake of being into daikaiju in general. I liked the old Gamera's for being on MST3k all the time haha. The new Gamera trilogy was really sweet, except for Guardian of the Universe, I didn't enjoy that like everyone else in the fandom haha. But the Attack of Legion and Revenge of Iris were awesome, the new Gamera Little Braves movie.... I dunno...

If you want a giant monster movie done on a shoe string budget that is so bad its good, try to track down The X From Outerspace, you will most certainly not be disapointed haha.

I personally thought that Manda was pretty unnapreciated as well. He was only in Atragon, Destroy All Monsters, a brief shot in Son of Godzilla and Godzilla's Revenge (fucking Gabera), and then the last Godzilla installment that I have still yet to see.

I fucking love Godzilla movies, although I rarely watch them for some reason.

I was just saying the same thing to someone the other day. What ever happened to good TV? What ever happened to Dialing for Dollars???

Its all about Rodan, spikes and crazy whirlwinds all day, he could destroy all of the monsters, except for when he got defeated by Godzilla.

On a side note, the remake of Godzilla was one of the worst movies ever made, I don't even consider it a Godzilla movie it was that bad.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at May 23,2006 12:43pm
which one, the one with Godzilla looking like a dinosaur? or Godzilla 2000? i thought Godzilla 2000 was pretty cool, but the other CGI one was stupid as hell.

toggletoggle post by Beaver McD at May 23,2006 12:52pm
the Godzilla looking like a dinosaur, one of the dumbest movies ever made, but yes Godzilla 2000 was awesome because it was the same old Godzilla that everyone loves, just better looking

Does anyone remember godzilla vs king kong

toggletoggle post by Cecchini @ work and not nli... punks at May 23,2006 7:07pm
I suggest you all go out and see Godzilla Final Wars which was the last Japanese made movie from last year. The American Godzilla is actually in the movie and fights the real Godzilla... Obviously the American one gets wasted in seconds haha.

and King Kong vs. Godzilla was pretty fun.
