This email is to inform all Disorder By Design fans, and industry personnel that guitarist/bookie/P.R, Mike Palmer is Leaving the band.

(industry new contact info will be posted at www.disorderbydesign.com shortly)

To The Fans:
I have left DBD on my own will due to a number of reasons, but mostly because of different levels of commitment in the band, which did not exactly match mine.
By nature I am a fairly pushy SOB. And I do not settle for second place. My goal in DBD was to stop at nothing and become the biggest metal band in the world.

In order to achieve such a feat in the most cut throat, expensive, and unforgiving industry, many sacrifices must be made by the band members, and the band must take total control of your entire life..
Not all the members of DBD could or would make these sacrifices, and we all ended up on a different page pushing a different direction. Some people were giving up there entire lives, every dime they had, and every minute of time to DBD, while others were not..

Frustrations and animosity grew to the point where we could hardly be in the same room. And the band lost site of what really matters - friendship, and making music.. Something needed to be done!
My answer naturally was to fix these problems with more hard work, and press on.
Steve, Nick and Derek came to the conclusion that my way of doing things, was no longer for them, and they no longer wanted to carry on like that.

I was left with a choice - to stay or leave.
The way I look at it is, you play the game to win, not for the fun or something to do.
If DBD was not playing to win then I was in the wrong band, and it was time for me to go.

This has been a very clean break, no BS, no fighting, as we still all love each other as family and always will. And we all fully understand each others reasons for the things we do.
I have left the band with every resource to continue on without me, and as of now they do plan to continue on at a much less demanding pace. I wish them all the very best of luck.

As for me? Im not sure at this time, right now I will take some time to enjoy the times, and things in life I have sacrificed for the past 3 years.
Unfortunately many of the sacrifices made were things and people I can not replace. DBD was like a baby to me, and everything and everyone else got pushed aside. Without the rest of the band 100% behind me, I simply can not continue to neglect life.
It took me a month to finally make this choice. It was not easy, and I struggled with myself trying to figure out the perfect balance between life and the band.. Honestly the thought of continuing on in DBD as a hobby made me sick.
BUT who knows, I might start another band, maybe venture into management to drive other bands, I have even contemplated playing drums (yeah drums) in a cover band, or retire from the industry entirely. Only time will tell.. One thing I have been reassured of is my place in DBD will always be there.. So maybe someday I will return.
Either way I dont think that the normal person life is going to cut it for me hahaha. So it is doubtful that you have seen the last of me.

Until then, I can not express my appreciation to all of the fans. Some of my best times in life were spent up on that stage. There were many a time that it was you, who kept me going. The cheers, the screams, will echo in my head as long as I live, and the love and support from you all will be held close to my heart till the day I die.
Please feel free to stay in touch; I would love to hear from you all.

Sincerely Mike Palmer of Disorder By Design
