I have a AMD 1900+ with a ASUS k7v333 mother board.

I just bought 2x512MB and 2x500GB SATA/300

that means, this computer is going to have
1.5GB RAM
256MB All-in-wonder pro
2x250GB RAID
2x500GB SATA
1x120GB main drive
2x320GB external drives
1x200GB external drives
2x60GB external drives.

that's 2.36TB of hard drive space!

that's

Funny you should mention that Rev. I just got done ordering an XPS M2010 with over 4 gigs ram at 533mhz... 5500 bucks just like that

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 29,2006 12:55am
who... you are kidding me.
is that for work?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 29,2006 12:58am
my boss just ordered a similar thing, is it in a server case?
that's what he got and got 1/2 off so it was in the $2000's

some of it I will use for work. Im a design artist on VA beach, but the other half for my own pleasures

I got a dell 3GHz p4 at work with 3GB of RAM but I use that for making VMware builds.
I'm going to segment off a vmware pc for my GF. if I can figure out how to get it right, she should be able to use it to put songs on her iPod.

I can't wait for these parts to come in. when they do, I'm going to show the disks on the computer. it'll be amazing.

The Sony monitor I've been using for the last decade is twenty years old and somehow works perfectly.

Saying that in this context is like bringing a Model T to a futuristic car show, I know.

that's a 1.5Gb/s card.
I want a 3.0GB/s card, but my computer doesn't have PCI express and those cards with RAID are like $300-800

my 2x500GB drives came in today.
I don't have a controller card for them yet.
*sigh*

toggletoggle post by ~~~carina~~~ at Jul 3,2006 1:35pm
did i get any packages?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 3,2006 1:36pm
ok, I like the packaging for the box and everything. the drives have a 5-year warrenty! yeah!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 3,2006 1:37pm

so I just got my new XPS laptop today. It pwns pretty much any laptop ive had before, but the resolution is terrible.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 5,2006 8:26pm
you didn't get the 1900x1200?
that was like $300 more.

I got my 2x500GB, but no SATA card.
I got my 2x512MB sticks today and put them in.

I've already set up VMware 5.0 with an XP session for my gf. I'm going to set up a OSX session on it too. maybe then I will turn off my G4 (400Mhz) that I never use.

I have the 12.1 WXVGA 700m from dell and the monitor looks so nice and slick.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 18,2006 10:50am

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 18,2006 11:13am

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 18,2006 12:35pm
ok... I'm looking to replace the mother board and cpu with something a lot lower in power... though I might just get a new case and let carina have this computer.

pentium m 2.0 GHz

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 18,2006 1:13pm
eh... forget that.
PC3200 DDR400 memory = $81
mother board = $100
CPU = $250
case = $$$
I'm just going to keep 20 fans on this computer and let it die

toggletoggle post by ram_girl  at Jul 18,2006 1:19pm

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 18,2006 1:26pm
