I, the new band featuring Abbath (IMMORTAL), Ice Dale (ENSLAVED, AUDREY HORNE), TC King (SAHG, ex-GORGOROTH) and Armagedda (ex-IMMORTAL), has uploaded two tracks from its upcoming debut album, "Between Two Worlds", on its MySpace page. Check out the songs "The Storm I Ride" and "Cursed We Are" at this location.

"Between Two Worlds" is scheduled for release in North America on November 14 via Nuclear Blast Records (November 3 in Germany). Recorded in Bergen, Norway's Lydriket Studio with Geir Luedy, and mixed by Peter Tägtgren (IMMORTAL, DIMMU BORGIR, MARDUK), "Between Two Worlds" "will kick your teeth in and break your back!" according to the band. "Heavy, groovy, melodic, atmospheric, heck — call it even catchy — THIS ALBUM IS A MASTERPIECE!"

"Between Two Worlds" track listing:

01. The Storm I Ride
02. Warriors
03. Between Two Worlds
04. Battalions
05. Mountains
06. Days of North Winds
07. Far Beyond the Quiet
08. Cursed We Are

There will also be a limited-edition version of the album with two bonus tracks: "Bridges of Fire" and "Shadowed Realms".

Decibel magazine had this to say about "Between Two Worlds": "Everything about the debut album from Norway's I screams black metal, excepting the death 'n' roll guitar riffs that pervade throughout. Abbath has managed to fuse his signature snarl with MOTÖRHEAD-styled rock and Demonaz's BATHORY-influenced lyrics in a way no band has previously attempted. IMMORTAL fans will surely embrace the band, as will extreme music newcomers that don't know the band members' history. This is a worthy new start for these scene mainstays."

Check out new promotional photos at this location. Pictures from the band's appearance last month at the Hole in the Sky festival in Bergen, Norway can be found here.

I thought Abbath wore corpsepaint 24/7. This is like finding out there is no Santa.

hahaha, I am TOTALLY digging this
Abbath's vocals and these lyrics over a good bouncy metal riff is pure fun
I love some of the ways the guys who've been playing black metal for 15+ years are now cutting loose and playing fun music, it's just a total fuck off to anyone who plays or listens to black metal and still takes it too seriously....I mean, I'd love to mosh to this

As soon as my husband gets over this whole "you can't have 100 cats" thing, I'm going to adopt a fat-assed black and white cat and name him Horgh.

Also Abbath is awesome, that picture is hilarious (did you expect a serious metal pose out of ABBATH?) and this band fucking kills.

toggletoggle post by Anthony nli at Sep 19,2006 9:51am
Abbath is the man. This new band is awesome.

And yeah, with corpsepaint or not, did you really expect he was going to act all serious for the promo picture? He is clearly a hilarious douchebag and that is why this photo was used.

Enough, already. What are you, an overweight middle-aged dyke from JP? If not, enough with the damn cats. If so, join a fuckin' softball team, get an apartment with your 'room mate' of ten years and get it over with.

i hate cats. they make me sick.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Sep 19,2006 10:06am
That's because you're not 45 year old from Revere named Doris.

I've got the record, it's basically Immortal Lite. Seriously, think Immortal mixed with Thor from the 80s, that's what it sounds like. Not bad, not particularly great.

toggletoggle post by dwellingsickness at Sep 19,2006 1:01pm
I almost d/l this off slsk the other day

sounds like every other black metal band i was really impressed with a immortal for a long time then black metal just lost it for me its like shitty spooky thrash(not all of it but most of it) that takes itself to seriously....i have more respect now that he lost the panda paint and spikey shin guards and those are some bad ass leather pants...now everyone can start being mad at me

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Sep 19,2006 2:33pm edited Sep 19,2006 2:34pm
Yeah, the I record isn't really the average spiked, corpse painted stuff, it's a lot less heavy and has a lot more air to breathe.

That said, it's not as good as Immortal by a longshot.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Sep 19,2006 2:58pm
i love immortal and i dig the I songs i've heard, so i will definitely get this record. i read somewhere he was trying to mix immortal with motorhead and other rock elements. i love immortal and i love motorhead, so my expectations are high. i think i'll enjoy the record.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Sep 19,2006 3:00pm
That's pretty much it, he mixes Immortal with some 80s-ish NWOBHM (Motorhead, Priest, etc with a dash of Thor).

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Sep 19,2006 3:00pm
sounds like fun to me.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Downloaded this today to check it out. I'll be buying it when it comes out, I fucking love it.

It's like Immortal meets Motorhead. Outstanding.

abbath had a previous band called Bombers which was a tribute band to Motorhead. Maybe he got used to the voice and wouldn't let it go. It sounds great anyway, the album is a kickass

toggletoggle post by Anti-Racism  at Sep 26,2006 1:54am
Why are there no non-white people in that band?
