Ozzfest for free? This has to be a joke. www.ozzfest.com

"
To gain entry into the event, fans will go to www.ozzfest.com or www.livenation.com to find links that will direct them to special sponsor sites where tickets can be secured. More details regarding the process are forthcoming.

As OZZFEST’s founder and namesake, OZZY will make his triumphant return to the headlining position on this year's mainstage after surprising fans last year by performing on the down-and-dirty second stage at a handful of dates. Audiences can expect the Prince of Darkness to unveil new songs from his forthcoming studio album, OZZY’s first disc of new material since 2001. While the rest of the in-progress bill is under wraps, Sharon points out, "we have bands committed, but we’re hoping that after today's announcement we’ll have a whole influx of artists who want to be a part of something this ground breaking. We know there aren't any major headlining acts that would tour all summer for nothing, but we're confident we can turn some of the genre's biggest bands on to what we're doing and have them come out to play a date or two. If they're in town and want the rush of performing in front of 20,000 frenzied kids, they're more than welcome to join us. They can sell their t-shirts, CDs and whatever else they've got. They're also welcome to book their own shows in local venues on the day of OZZFEST. I’m not stopping them. People have to be creative and think of alternatives."
its gonna be interesting to see how this all works. the tickets and the bands....

Sharon truly is a business woman.
Clever...........Very clever.

wow.....they just climbed a few notches in my book

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Feb 6,2007 3:46pm
interesting

toggletoggle post by Cecchini   at Feb 6,2007 3:48pm
even if you get in for free, i'm sure sharron will be making more money off of this event than other years, somehow.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Feb 6,2007 3:50pm
you probably have to buy something from each of the sponsors in order to obtain 1 ticket.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 6,2007 3:52pm
this is cause everyone was calling her a jew-bag.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 6,2007 3:53pm
edit your title to say "ozzfest free this year" so I can news it and add it to the front page!

toggletoggle post by Revocation at Feb 6,2007 3:58pm
done and done

toggletoggle post by Archaeon at Feb 6,2007 4:07pm
Bathroom tickets $10

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 6,2007 4:08pm

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Feb 6,2007 5:24pm
its gonna be like rock 101's sky show 100 shitty bands two good ones but at the tweeter center

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Feb 6,2007 7:40pm
i bet the prices on everything else will be skyrocketed like merch and food and etc etc etc

toggletoggle post by Cecchini   at Feb 6,2007 11:54pm
i assume there logic is "hey, you didnt spend 50 bucks on a ticket, spend 50 bucks on merch". not to mention there is going to be some BS way to decide who gets lawn tix/front row.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Feb 7,2007 12:13am
Hahahaha.

toggletoggle post by tylerl  at Feb 7,2007 12:21am
this sounds too good to be totally true. i'm only going this year if the lineup is incredible

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Feb 7,2007 12:25am
When has the lineup ever been incredible?
Ozzfest is shte, if you ask me.

toggletoggle post by tylerl  at Feb 7,2007 12:29am
in 03 and 04 i remember having a great time, they had alot of my favorite bands at the time

toggletoggle post by Cecchini   at Feb 7,2007 2:21am
they had black sabbath, slayer and judas priest one year. not to mention there were probably atleast one other band you could find that appealed to you, that was pretty sweet.

this year is probably going to have alice in chains.

97 was pretty much the last good year. Pantera played in 01 i believe it was, but the rest of the lineup was pretty sub-par.

toggletoggle post by HailAtWork at Feb 7,2007 10:55am
'97 was probably the best year...if tickets are free this time I wonder how badly the lineup will suck

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Feb 7,2007 11:05am
why cant the united states have fests like Europe has? ... you know, with alot of good bands.

toggletoggle post by ConquerTheBaphomet  at Feb 7,2007 12:41pm
Too bad I couldn't give a crap about Ozzfest and the nu-metal mainstream crappy "metal" bands they book every year. I'd rather go bowling.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 7,2007 12:43pm
yeah, you're right. with the past lineups, they could pay me to go and i would pass.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Feb 7,2007 12:45pm
The last year I went had Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Dimmu Borgir, Slayer, Lamb of God, and Black Label Society. not too shabby.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Feb 7,2007 12:54pm
i was led to believe that this won't be at the tweeter center

they've dropped it down to one stage and like 6 or 7 bands

i hear it's gonna be indoors as well

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 7,2007 12:56pm
its going to be at Ralphs.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Feb 7,2007 12:58pm
if it was at ralph's it'd look like that israel wedding where the floor gave way

toggletoggle post by pam   at Feb 7,2007 1:15pm
weird.

toggletoggle post by Messerschmitt at Feb 7,2007 1:45pm

when i went to ozzfest i was shocked all of the second stage bands tees were $30- their cd's were $15 and all of the main stage were $35- when you can see the same band (ex bury your dead) and get their tees for $10- at an off date the prices are crazy. i would never spend $35 on a shirt that has some stupid shadows fall logo on it, but i bet thats how its gonna have to be cause all of the bands are not going to be paid.

oh really? my guess is either the tsongas arena or the centrum centre if that is true.

Hopefully it'll be at Greatwoods as usual, it would be retarded to have an indoor show in the middle of the summer.

Wasn't Iron Maiden the only good band at that years Ozzfest?

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Feb 9,2007 2:58am
Ozzfest is turning into nothing bu another big hardcore and nu-metal festival. I mean seriously, Atreyu played there. Disturbed and Mudvayne played there. I wouldn't touch that shit with a 10 foot poll.

black sabbath=past prime
judas priest=past prime
dimmu=always awesome, but i fear they're past their prime
slayer=waaaay past prime
lamb of god=lost all their energy
bls=just sucks

that show must've been totally worth it...a bunch of old guys trying to win over nu-metal kids to make a couple $$

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 9,2007 10:47am
Dimmu isnt so much past their prime, they just have no business on Ozzfest.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Feb 9,2007 12:01pm
i had a good time regardless

All black metal is for teenyboppers, because all black metal is for queers.

...but not Bathory. No, Bathory is the antithesis of queer.
