CEPHALIC CARNAGE has unveiled the first new track, “Endless Cycle of Violence”, from their upcoming new full-length album Xenosapien via their MySpace ( http://www.myspace.com/CephalicCarnage ) and PureVolume ( http://www.purevolume.com/cephaliccarnage ) pages. “Endless Cycle of Violence”, the album's lead-off track, will also be the first video from the record.

Xenosapien was recorded by the band and long-time producer / engineer Dave Otero at their studio in Denver, CO and is set for a May 29 North American release date (May 28 internationally). The album’s artwork, designed by Orion Landau, can be previewed at this location. Xenosapien’s complete track listing is as follows: “Endless Cycle of Violence”, “Divination & Volition”, “Molting”, “Touched By An Angel”, “Vaporized”, “Heptarchy”, “G.lobal O.verhaul D.evice”, “Let Them So Long As They Fear”, “The Omega Point”, “Megacosm of the Aquaphobics”, and “Ov Vicissitude”.

Additionally, CEPHALIC CARNAGE has announced their involvement as part of this summer’s “Summer Slaughter Tour” with label-mates NECROPHAGIST as well as DECAPITATED, ION DISSONANCE, CATTLE DECAPITATION, ARSIS and more. This five-week North American tour will kick-off on June 1 in Clifton Park, NY and is sponsored by Revolver Magazine, Ibanez Guitars, Tama Drums, Fixion Media and Jaxprints. The “Summer Slaughter Tour” will follow on the heels of CEPHALIC CARNAGE's European headlining tour in May. A listing of CEPHALIC CARNAGE tour dates can be found in the tour section with many more to be announced soon.

This is great. I hope the backlash over their last album doesn't scare them away from having stoner/doom parts on this one.

toggletoggle post by yummy at Apr 16,2007 9:52pm
I think I'll have to give this a few more listens. Sounds pretty good tho. Looking forward to the new album coming out.

They're all amazing!

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Apr 17,2007 12:47pm
wow...this might be their best album yet...that might be saying a lot, but I'm saying it.

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at Apr 17,2007 12:48pm
wow... this might be the first time everyone agrees that an album whoops all sorts of ass.

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Apr 17,2007 12:56pm
i'm listening to this album in its entirety and it kicks fucking ass
i like anomalies and Lucid but i think this might be better than those...pretty much every riff is awesome, the production and drumming are the best i've heard from them

Cephalic Carnage is fucking CONSISTENT. I've enjoyed each of their releases immensely - even the weird-ass "doom" CD on Willowtip.

And I don't mean to brag or anything, but Catalyst MAY have out-smoked them one fine evening several years back. Love them dudes (no homo).

This CD is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than their last one. I did not in any shape or fashion like Anomalies as I have been for quite some time a huge fan of all their older shit. My fav. is still Exploiting Dysfunction though.

toggletoggle post by vesgore at Apr 17,2007 9:31pm
i dig it

toggletoggle post by tylerl  at Apr 17,2007 9:32pm

toggletoggle post by ConquerTheBaphomet  at Apr 17,2007 11:25pm
Just heard a couple songs from it. Must say it is indeed better than Anomalies.

toggletoggle post by deathchick   at Apr 18,2007 2:46am

toggletoggle post by swinesack nli at Apr 19,2007 12:34am
thank god, i was fearing they'd put out a whole album of that stoner rock horse shit. this is sick.

toggletoggle post by strom thruman at Apr 20,2007 9:42am
i really dig this album.

toggletoggle post by ZJD   at Apr 20,2007 12:55pm
Anomalies was a great album. Stoner rock/metal is a wonderful thing.

This album is great, too.

toggletoggle post by ZJD nli at Apr 20,2007 1:37pm
I'm also very happy they didn't get scared from Anomalies's reception and go back to straight deathgrind all the time. G.O.D. is awesome, as is the hidden doom track.
