What are some of your favorites that I should buy?

toggletoggle post by Y_Ddraig_Goch  at Jul 23,2007 7:59pm
oxymoron.

There are no exclusive titles worth buying for the ps3, all the good games are out on 360 too.

For the longest time I was against xbox....but I think I finally renouncd my loyalty to ps3, worst system ever.

Nah, I just haven't seen any evidence to support this as a good system. I was told that the games take forever to be made, and the only plus it has over the others are good graphics.

Plus it lacks exclusive ps titles.

does that mean wii and 360 combine equal 650? if so...damn that's cheap compared to ps3

didnt ps3 just drop a hundred dollars too?

toggletoggle post by boine at Jul 24,2007 12:24am
NINJA GAIDEN its amazing the most common complaint is its too hard so if you like a challenge this game is worth the 60 dollars

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at Jul 24,2007 3:29am
they dropped the price of the 60 gig ps3's, introduced 80 gig ps3's for the 60 gig's original price, and will sell the 60 gig at 499 until they run out of 60 gig models and at that time, they will only have the 80 gig for 599. some price drop

you should add silent hill 5 and resident evil 5 to the "not exclusive to ps3 anymore" category. only major titles left are final fantasy 13 and mgs4, which mgs4 has a pretty solid rumor going around saying that it wont be exclusive for very long... 360 also has a shit ton of awesome games coming out for it right around now too.

The only exclusives i would be worried about is Killzone2 and God of War for PS3 whenever that happens. Other than that, i think i would have to go with the 360, as its cheaper and has way more games. Plus its getting GTA4 and RE5, so those are the games i am overall more inclined to buy.

Sony has been the punching bag of the games industry for a while now, but it may very well be Rockstar of all companies serving the biggest bitchslap yet. Rockstar spokesman Hosi Simon has essentially said that the full Grand Theft Auto IV experience will require an Xbox 360. He also stated that the games run identical on both systems, being unable to think of any benefits owning the PS3 version will have over purchasing a 360 version.

"They're identical games. We're not hardware makers, and we're not like a pawn between these companies, we try not to be as much as we can. We make great games for people to enjoy on whichever system they want. But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose."

The "I suppose" nonchalantly thrown in at the end almost tries to be non-committal, but this is one of the most blatant statements made against the PS3 yet. Fact of the matter is though, it's true. The 360 is where the exclusive downloadable content shall reside and if you want it, you know which system you need to buy the game for. It's a straight up fact and we all knew it. Looks like the vast piles of nazi gold that Microsoft paid Rockstar are reaping the rewards already.

oh well apple were be throwing down on this race and more to bitch about, xbox is great for games, but the thing is just made crappy ive had 3 of them that have had hardware failures and gotten the red lights they even tried to charge me 150 dollars to fix one waited like a month and warranty got extended again if they could just get the hardware up to a working level for all the systems they would be unbeatable, but i mean they got just as many people on live as WOW which im surprised hasnt made the jump huge market there

360 has a three year warrenty now. if you paid for a repair, you'll get refunded. I'm on my FOURTH xbox 360! the hardware is shit and for a while they were refurb'ing, but it looks like they've got a cooler running unit now and they are losing llke a billion dollars refunding repairs. But they are being real legit about it which is cool.

The Wii is my favorite system though... I play the 360 when nobody is home and I watch HDDVD movies on it. But the Wii is the party system and also the "i've never done anything like this before" system. I can't wait for Mario Galaxy and Metroid!

Metroid is going to be amazing so far the prime series as been great

not when micro$oft paid $50 million for 3 year exclusivity.

Peter Moore, head of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business division announced that Rockstar Games is working on two downloadable packs for GTA IV exclusively on the 360, which will probably be available within months of the game's release date. Moore described downloadable content as "epic episode packs", and not just extra cars or characters. A press release during the conference said that the packs would add "hours of entirely new gameplay" to the game. The official Xbox website states that these episodes will last a minimum of 10 hours. Details on the pricing of these downloads have not yet been revealed, though it would almost certainly not be released for free, as Take-Two Interactive's former CEO, Paul Eibeler, have said numerous times that these downloads would provide "additional revenue streams" to the company.

if you already have an xbox 360 & a hdtv...

If you've been on the fence about picking up the Xbox 360 HD DVD drive, you might be pleased to know that the deal has been sweetened a bit.

Just announced at the San Diego Comic Con, Microsoft is dropping the price of the external HD DVD Player from $199 to $179 in the United States starting August 1st. It gets better as five free HD DVD movies are offered to anyone who purchases the add-on between August 1st and September 30th of this year.

Although prices are quickly dropping on HD DVD players, this is still going to be one of the cheapest ways to get a high-definition disc format in your home (provided you own an Xbox 360). Also, keep in mind that this drive also functions as a player for your PC or Mac with the proper drivers.

The 'free movie' deal is really just an extension of Toshiba's "Perfect Offer" promotion, which was originally reserved for Toshiba HD DVD players. This is a mail-in offer, and the discs are chosen from a selection of 15 titles. You can find a list after the jump.

Lastly, Microsoft is releasing 300 'on demand' on Xbox LIVE Marketplace on August 14th to promote the movie release on HD DVD. In a similar promotion, the first episode of Heroes will be made available for download to promote the release of Heroes: Season 1 HD DVD, though this one will be a free download.
