Emmure, The Banner, The Handshake Murders, A Timely Demise, Only Blood Will Tell, Always and Forever

Emmure is not from Connecticut.

it simply amazes me that 15 and 16 year olds get lip-rings and tattoos. If people thought the beginning of Gen Y was heavily modified, the tail end will look like a burlap sac stuff with needles.

stilleto: young kids, lots of breakdowns and the drummer sang. I'm always impressed when the drummer of a band can keep up the pace while singing. I can't even change the radio station in my car while singing. I get out of breath, pass out and wake up in a ditch listening to conservative talk radio and wondering who peed all over my cloths.

I wanted to put CT pride in the title, buti have a headache and slurred my words.

hmmmmmm Acacia Core?
Bore Core whats the best way to describe this?
Slop-core?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 25,2007 6:21pm
someone just came up to me and asked "why am I here" reffering to themself and not me.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Jul 25,2007 6:29pm
hahahaaha.
what did you say?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 25,2007 6:34pm
something like "how do you think I feel?" or "i should be asking myself that." I'm very funny, trust me.

astrada: they were late and jumped on after stilleto. Basic emo stuff that usually opens up drifters. The vocals were all off-key and emo. It's awesome though seeing 80 kids out there watching an opening band at 6 on a wednesday. One of the guitarists broke a string and borrowed one from someone in a timely demise. At the end, the bassplayer did something dumb with his bass and the headstock hit his cab.

next one of these shows, I'm going to bring a vacuum machine that sucks the youth out of people and bathes me in their youth-giving blood..er.. life-giving youth. I will immediately start listening to NIN and the cure like it was my religion. Ah, who am I kidding? Everyone will figure out that it's just a vacuum that smells of gas with some be-dazzled gems and a broken tape deck attached to it. If not right away, surely once I suck up someone's hair.

funny? funny looking to some perhaps, but humorous you are not.

toggletoggle post by Dwellingsickness at Jul 25,2007 7:27pm
The Rev is very humorous... I laugh at him all the time.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 25,2007 8:00pm
frownz.. no sexy time for either of you bitches.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 25,2007 8:07pm
flyash: from somewhere south of Boston. I kept thinking of the nu-metal band, flyleaf. They reminded me of a nu-metal band that turns into a metalcore band. Sounded a lot unearth.. Sort of.

a timely demise: remember when these guys used to post all the time. They sounded a lot different. More like Uneath than Zao. I mean that in a good way, I guess. they also were the first band that had people kicking up their heels and dancing.

only blood will tell: sort of the brickhouse, this was probably their best sounding and best participating set I've seen. The crowd moved around a lot and it seemed like there were was a full out floor of people doing jazercise.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 25,2007 8:53pm
Always & Forever: they took a long time to set up all of their lights. You saw dave getting antsy, but then they started. There were tons of wires all over the floor to control a couple strings of lights. Crowd-wise, they nailed it. People went nuts, arms reached god (or some junk.. I just didn't want to say reach the sky), and asians flew.. Er.. Asian. It's funny watching everyone line up in front of the band and then *wham* as soon as the hammer drops, the front row is cleared out. In the end of their set, I began to fear for myself and I was behind the band. It was like a churning sea of people and when it ended, there was no blood only a human pyraid of people singing along. Crazy that something as frenzied as that ends with smiles and hugs, instead of fists and blood. I started their set with a terrible headache and ended it feeling good.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 25,2007 9:24pm
handshake murders, the: wow, not only where there people moshing for the whole set, there was even a fight during their last song. Amazing. I was so worried that people wouldn't be into their set. Since they aren't the same cookie-cutter mosh-breakdown-bridge-clean vocals as a lot of bands that these kids parents let them out of the house for. Especially on a schol night! Well, summer school night. The set was over very quickly. Shame cause they sounded damn good. these dudes have been on constant tour since their CD came out.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 25,2007 10:05pm
banner, the: they said they were playing a short set, but this was basically the same amount of songs they play live. Somehow they released a new CD without me knowing regardless, this band has been on constant tour mode since time forgotten. That is to say since they got back together. Good set though. THM was what got me to this show and the banner's assured misfits cover was the icing on the cake. A cake that looks good on the outside, but then when you get you close it's just cardboard, frosting, it's stail and smells like cigarettes. That's nothing about the band. More about the smoking situtation of the club. Did I mention yet that smoking sucks more dick than the girlfriend in clerks? yeah, like that. Smoking is just a big flipping cock parking lot. Have fun sucking on ya fags mate!

Yeah, I smoke, but I hate it how they let people smoke in there now... I always go outside when I play there

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 26,2007 12:14am
xax: that's why if you read a word later, I said summer school

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 26,2007 12:15am
going through pictures now. HOLY SHIT, the people in the crowd are making the funniest faces ever.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 26,2007 12:18am

Yeah, we really don't post at all anymore. But I'll try and start again. Just for you, Rev. Thanks for the killer pictures.

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Jul 26,2007 12:45pm
Yeah, the fact that they allow smoking in there now gives me a headache every time I'm there, makes it hard to see, and makes it so hard to scream because the air is so dry. Dave hates it when I go outside, but sometimes I just have to.

Which brings me to my next point in case, I'm basically considered Dave's right hand man now, so expect me to be doing a lot more shows at the legion, and you can also expect them to be a lot more solid lineups.

toggletoggle post by joeycobra  at Jul 26,2007 2:36pm
yeah when we played there last week I thought about how I haven't been to a venue that allowed smoking in ages.

toggletoggle post by ConquerTheBaphomet  at Jul 26,2007 6:08pm
They allow smoking inside because the Legion complained about cigarette butts and trash outside. So, now there is no re-entry and smoking has to be inside.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Jul 26,2007 9:56pm

that girl got smacked.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Jul 26,2007 9:56pm

fighting in groups is the way things go at these kinds of shows. not fair by far, I completely agree with that, but going online and complaining about him not making a move one on one, then saying you're gonna do him in the next time you see him is just pure unheteroness.
he didn't do anything after, and neither did you. just let it pass.
he made a mountain out of a molehill about a situation that wasn't as extream as he wanted it to be, and you didn't defend your pride when all his friends weren't around.
it's all even.

I find that little kids, hopped up on adrenaline will try to act cool around their friends after something like this.

You're in the wrong place to be bitching about something like this because well...no one cares. Only reason I was at this show was because Dave asked me to run the door/some security. But if you're gonna bitch about some kid and call him a pussy when you didn't even do anything, you really have no right to call him a pussy. I know this may be hard on you kids, but someone's gotta say it.

Fighting at shows is lame anyways. Thats one of the main reasons its such a pain in the ass to find a venue now a days.
