I know a decent chunk of you either a.) hate opeth or b.) hate nevermore or c.) all of the above
BUT
I found these laying around. If I remember correctly, both are circa 2001-2003.
True story: I found the Opeth pick in my hair after a show - can't remember the specific one. They weren't headlining it, though, I can remember that much.
The Nevermore pick I found on the ground of the Palladium after one of their shows in 2002.

I can't find these on ebay and I'm not sure if anyone would be even willing to buy these. They're authentic guitar picks used by the bands, the Opeth pick being Mikael's. Both picks have the band's name on the front and the printed-on autograph of said guitar players.

I don't even know how much to ask for these... so either I get rid of them, sell them, or throw them out.
Let me know if interested

PS: Can't post pics of them at the moment. Will soon.

I think I'm going to toss them into the fire and watch them burn.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 1,2008 8:40am
To me, at least, that would get me more joy than $1.

Are you in a band? Toss them at your next show, that'd be hilarious. Actually it would be more hilarious if you went to an Opeth show and threw them back.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 1,2008 8:44am
Okay, I'll toss them out this Saturday at our show in CT.

who the fuck hates both bands? they both are awesome.

toggletoggle post by timma at Oct 1,2008 9:16am
I can get down on some Nevermore...Opeth makes me wants to punt small animals though.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 1,2008 9:29am
before I toss them, no one wants these?
they'd make a perfect addition to any real fans of these bands

Agreed. I thank Kessaris the summer we lived in Rollinsford for getting me into Nevermore. At first I thought it was kinda gay, but you can't fuck with that guitar work. I even bought one of their cds, the one with "The River Dragon". I guess the point is I'd rather have a Nevermore pick, but its always way cooler when you get the pick/stick/whatever yourself.

I had a Kreator stick as well but the drummer in my old band took it and used it and broke it and forgot about it. sigh.

That was about my feeling. At least Nevermore write songs ;)

toggletoggle post by moe nli at Oct 1,2008 12:25pm
Nevermore is quite underrated in terms of their heaviness as well

toggletoggle post by Conservationist  at Oct 1,2008 12:28pm
If you want to appreciate Nevermore, compare them to Children of Bodom or Cradle of Filth.

Suddenly, they appear tasteful, restrained, intelligent...

This man speaks truth. Though I'm not the biggest Nevermore fan, Dreaming Neon Black has some good tunes.

i'm suprised no one said this band has some of the best/heaviest metal breakdowns ever

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Oct 1,2008 2:53pm
Nevermore doesn't bring the mosh so much as inspire bouts of hessian football (aka smelly fat kid push-pits)

toggletoggle post by narkybark   at Oct 1,2008 3:42pm
I just wanted to repeat the phrase "smelly fat kid push-pits"

i still got one from steve smith when i saw em in 04 probably the only thing ive gotten from a show

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Oct 3,2008 10:19pm
i love both bands. you should keep the picks. they're small so they aren't really taking up much space.

i have a drum stick from green carnation's drummer.

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Oct 3,2008 11:43pm
I have a 1 DISMEMBER pick, 1 DEICIDE pick, a handful of BROKEN hope ones from Jeremy Wagner, Shaun Glass and Brian Griffin (not the Family Guy dog, ha), like 2-3 of each!

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Oct 4,2008 2:51am
I had a used Jack Black Tenacious D pick that he threw into the crowd at some CMJ show in like 99 or 2000 when they played Irving Plaza with those beloved faggots At The Drive In. Kept it snugly in a wallet that I lost. Awesome.

I've since replaced it with a (sadly unused) Geezer Butler pick which now resides in my wallet between beaver shots of my exes.
