I've been trying to promote my blog on some Patriots messageboards. The idea of it kind of makes my dick hurt, but it'd be cool to have someone besides just my friends read it. Every single one of them has some sort of totally absurd criteria for posting threads. I just registered for one that said I needed to be a member for 2 weeks before I can post links. I just registered for another that said I needed to have 30 posts (THIRTY) before I can post a thread. Half of them give you error messages when you try to create an account, and they're all paranoid about spam to the point where they might as well not even let anyone post there period.

It all makes me super grateful for the great work the Rev does, and the practical measures he's taken to cut down on bots, and spam.

I really enjoy this board. It's chaotic enough that it doesn't fall into lockstep like most smaller communities.

I can't stand most forums. The ones that seemingly cater to a smarter audience, like the Dawkins forum, science forums or philosophy forums like the internet infidels... those are the ones that fail hardest, because everyone wants to be tagged "smart."

Yea, I used to post on SciForums a lot but couldn't keep up with the cheesedicks on that board. You really have to keep posting opinions on crap all day because it just goes on and on as an argument. It is very entertaining to read because of the number of intellectuals on the board, but it's pretty hard to be active on that site.

I post on a few other boards but RttP takes the cake. No one gets butthurt over stupid shit and everyone gets butthurt while getting buttraped. I love this place. Everywhere else, the tiniest remark can cause the biggest thread-derailing drama.
