New site? Maybe some day.
|
ok, ok, I might doubt the severity of my evilness, but I'm feeling anxious to see this movie. tons and tons of controversy. critics say it's the most violent movie ever. plus they say the scene with jesus being tortured is possibly the most "painful" and "grotseque" in the history of amerikkkan cinenma ever.
I hope this pisses everyone off. |
|
hype hype hype.
nothing will ever beat bad taste or enter the killers. |
|
there have been a few contraversial "jesus" movies
it's probably not more scandalous than one of the "international" flicks |
|
i really don't wanna sit through a movie
with subtitles. i'd rather go to the opera |
|
im quite sure that any hype or controversy this movie may bring will be short lived, and over all it will probably suck ass... as does most movies bornsovile wants to see. |
|
I saw it on thursday and I don't think that's hype at all. It's definately the most brutal movie I've ever seen. It took it a couple steps farther then I knew you could. This said, it's a very long and slow movie. I liked it a lot, but all of my friends I went with weren't really fans. It's definately worth at least one view. |
|
i just got home and saw the movie. hands down the most disturbing movie i have ever seen. i have this thing about torture, and that word doesn't even come close to what happened to Jesus. it was un-fucking-believable. |
|
you sound like you love jesus.
sounds very quuer. |
|
"i love thy friends, and thy enemies my son. for i am at one with the lord and shall stand beside him in paradise."
seriously though, you really start to feel sorry for him. i mean that's the only violence there was in the movie, violence against him, and there was just so much of it. |
|
talena said: im quite sure that any hype or controversy this movie may bring will be short lived, and over all it will probably suck ass... as does most movies bornsovile wants to see. |
ouch. we watched some good movies together, Scarface and Taxi Driver are classics. |
|
It was a great movie. When I don't feel like killing myself I'll see it again. |
|
yeah then again i really didnt pay much attention to any of those movies |
|
made me want to kill jews |
|
"i really don't wanna sit through a movie

some of the most amazing movies i've ever seen have been with subtitles.. |
|
try getting through Fellini "Satyricon"
it's a challenge |
|
richard simmons is in it
heh
i am a huge Fellini fan and have a few of his films on DVD...they need some box set (unless it's already out)
i remember the day he died...
i think he had a heart attack in Rome..and it was the same day River Phoenix od'ed and died too
oct 31, 1993 |
|
except river phoenix is a moron. |
|
anti semite said: made me want to kill jews |
of course it did you fucking looser..... anyone w/ out mind would want to do that, seems like you didn't get the story bonehead.. In not religious man nor am i preaching to you, but your a fucking moron and you totaly missed the point. so a big FUCK YOU anti semite |
|
anti-semitism is the most illogical brain disorder I've ever heard of
no one has ever explained to me how or why they arrive at those erroneous conclusions, WTF |
|
im w/ you Litacore, i cant fathom what goes on in the brains of those who hate for no reason |
|
if they torture jesus i have to see it. HAIL SATAN |
|
ok we just got back from seeing it
ironic that James (Jim) Caviezel played Jesus...since he's a strict Catholic and refused to film love scenes with Jennifer Lopes (Angel Eyes) and Ashley Judd (High Crimes)...i still really like Frequency....
oh and during filming of this movie he got hit by lightening
|
|
just saw it.
damn... I want to mention things, but I don't want to ruin it for people. |
|
it sucked. it was boring and the whole movies was seriously Jesus getting his ass kicked, then killed. |
|
i found it intresting, the story was obviously nothing new to me, the filmmakers did a good job following the actual text from the bible... |
|
I just saw it. Hey gibson, way to blame the jewsass hole.
What propaganda. |
|
Cool violence, and everything, but 90 out of 125 minutes were jesus getting beaten, whipped, and eventually, killed. Oh well, listened to Dark Funeral on the way there andUnleashed the way back. |
|
I saw it last night. It was brutal, and definitely worth watching. If you hate Jesus, go and see it at least for the torture.
It actually was a good movie imo. The Judas parts were great, the portrayel of temptation, and the imagery was awesome. I'd watch it again. People were leaving the theatre, and you could hear people crying the entire time.
I'm not religous at all, so it didn't bother me. I thought it made the Jews look bad, and if this story is "true" (which I don't think it is), the Jews should look bad for it. If you haven't seen it, don't even try to tell me I'm anti-semetic. If any group did this to someone, they would look bad. |
|
I saw it friday night...it has finally occurred to me that i cannot take a goddamn thing seriously. while he was getting beaten with the sticks then the razor whip-things, it was dead quiet in the theatre, i'm pretty sure people were crying too and just out of nowhere i thought of a random family guy moment for no reason and started laughing...as much as i hate religion, i still respect people's beliefs and i realize that this was a serious movie whether you are religious or not, i felt like shit for laughing |
|
If you thought the Jews were portrayed badly in this film, you obviously bought into the hype. The point was that ALL humanity is to blame. *shakes head* Anyways, best movie I've seen in a while. |
|
How could you say the Jews weren't portrayed badly? Did you even watch it? I don't care about what you think the point is, or what the hype was. The mob mentality of the Jews IN THE MOVIE made them look bad, fact. |
|
just got back from seeing it with Ma. it was really good and better than I expected. it hasn't converted me from my beliefs in the slightest bit. I agree with Ninkaszi, it portrays them not only as bad but stupid, the best example was when they freed barbarra. you can see where some people say queers brought down the romans when you see king herod. i think the earthquake when the tear/raindrop falls is bullshit and never happened. the torture scene wasn't that bad, the entire movie is a great display of ancient torture as well the usually idiodic (sp? :p) trial process people faced. worth seeing again and I'm tempted to buy it on dvd. Hail Gibson. |
|
um, mel gibson is a psychopath. he's a devout catholic and a bigot.
fuck that guy, i hope he eats shit. i have not seen this movie. i heard it was boring as shit and not that great of a movie, and then it was jesus getting his ass beat for 90 minutes. sounds retarted. i dont think i'll go thanks. |

The only person that didn't look bad in this movie (besides Jesus/disciples) was Pilate, and that, historically, is wrong. EVERYBODY else was cast in a negative light...Especially the Roman soldiers, who very much seemed to be enjoying the suffering they caused. And yes, I saw it opening night. |

|
well pilATe never really wANted to put jesus to deATh, he felt pressured to, rd the bible |
|
Roman society was prety harsh though... i mean, they fucked up the Greeks and stole their mythology. they tossed "defective" and "unworthy" infants off the sides of cliffs... what did they do that could possibly make them seem like they were good-natured people? |
|
braveheart is amazing. too bad mel gibson didnt write the movie, like he did for the passion of christ. |

christianity is responsible for more bloodshed than any entity in the history of the universe,so personally I enjoyed the bloody depiction of that cocksucker Jesus being brutalized... saw it friday with my girlfriend. I went wearing a dimmu hoodie that says "in satan we trust" on the back, hahaha
was better than i expected, good movie. supposivly they have proof that a 'jesus' actually existed, but no proof of him being a saviour or anything. either way, no way a dude would be able to tolerate a beating like that without passing out. |

King Herod was a Hebrew King..... He has a Jewish name and was of hebrew/jewish blood..... and "Queers" were no the reason that rome fell, thats religious dogma, Rome fell after the Huns destroyed Constantinople in the 8th century prior to that Rome was falling apart at the seems anyway, too many leaders and the empire was too big... back to the movie, I dont think this movie portrayed the jews as bad or stupid... I dont think the movie was anti-semetic at all. It showed the greed/lust of the Jewish people of this time. They were starving for freedom from the Romans and wanted to make everything right witht the romans and when Jesus came into play they saw him as threat to there way of life and their ties to the romans. They did not persicute jesus because he thought he was the king of man, they persicuted him for politcal reasons. Jesus could have taken Jerusilem days prior to the crucifiction with the army his diciples gathered days prior, but jesus knew (hypetheticly) that had to die so that no more blood shed was to happen and the Jews seeing him as a threat to their way of life had him killed because they knew he was powerful... and the Barabbas scene showed the actual inteligence of the Jewish hirarchy. they knew they needed to destroy Jesus. releasing a rapist and murder that would end up back in prison for another crime later down the road was a smart move, They killed two birds with one stone, knowing the he would end up back in prison and Jesus was no more. It was a political murder and nothing more.. Mel Gibson portrayed that wonderfuly. |

Yes, I was aware of that, I was fired up on a Bill Maher segment I watched early where a woman cited that theory as a reason to denouce gay marriage. Sucks being "that kid" who makes an ass out of himself . I didn't really think the movie strived to prove the fact that Jesus was killed for a political reason. In fact I think it only prooves that he was killed for being a "king" while at the same time a somewhat "delirious fool". However, I want to see this flick again so I can come to a better conclusion, fucking jesus. |

why did no one read that yet? it's great! |

that is fairly entertaining. |

that's because i was in court when you posted that...then the board moves fast! |

the tragedy of this is that you won't hear any politicians scapegoating this film like they do with metal

Couple arrested after 'Passion' fight
STATESBORO, Georgia (AP) -- A couple who got into a dispute over a theological point after watching "The Passion of the Christ" were arrested after the argument turned violent.
The two left the movie theater debating whether God the Father in the Holy Trinity was human or symbolic, and the argument heated up when they got home, Melissa Davidson said.
"It was the dumbest thing we've ever done," she said.
Davidson, 34, and her husband, Sean Davidson, 33, were charged with simple battery on March 11 after the two called police on each other. They were released on $1,000 bail.
According to a police report, Melissa Davidson suffered injuries on her arm and face, while her husband had a scissors stab wound on his hand and his shirt was ripped off. He also allegedly punched a hole in a wall.
"Really, it was kind of a pitiful thing, to go to a movie like that and fight about it. I think they missed the point," said Gene McDaniel, chief sheriff's deputy.

You ignorant cocksucker, I signed my name, isn't that as good as logging on? Oh' by the way, your girlfriend gives shitty blowjobs.... |
|
i think im the only person in the country who hasnt seen this movie |
|
1. The movie doesn't make Jews look bad. It makes the ROMANS look bad. It makes GOD look bad.
2. The movie is very good about being faithful to the violence and torture christ endured. However, like all christian propaganda, it ignores the actual biblical accounts of christ and instead paints him as a peaceful, loving individual who is here only to save and redeem us. Read the bible, guys. Christ was deceptive, endorsed violence, and will ultimately inflict torture, violence, and damnation upon the human race in it's entirety.
3. This movie is nothing but hype. It contains little of the teachings of christ, nor does it explain the divine motivation of the events within it's script. It merely exists to motivate faith through guilt, a common tact within the roman church gibson belongs to. Before being swayed by any of that shit, remember: Jesus kills and tortures all the members of the church right after he destroys america.
I can't believe people would waste their time putting actual thought and reflection into this film. Try reading the bible yourself instead of just observing the beliefs of someone else who read it for you.

The holy trinity(s) are the most misunderstood things in todays churches.
The holy trinity is NOT symbolic, it's literal. The "good" trinity is GOD, creator and omnipotent deity, JESUS, human offspring of david and mary (that's right, there was no "immaculate" conception, he just had an angel for a father) who held the wisdom and power of GOD, and the holy spirit, which is the "word of god", or the force that drives people to accept christ as savior.
The "bad" trinity consists of Satan, the form Lucifer the first creation takes after accepting free-will, The anti-christ - a human who will bring peace to the world under pretense of being the messiah, and the false prophet, who will drive people to worship the anti-christ as the true messiah.

i think this movie is really good. very intense, kinda sticks in your mind long after you're done watching it. i'm not going to go into details about my feelings towards religion; i don't believe in god anymore but i still thought this was an awesome movie.
now a few comments:
its funny all during the scene where jesus is being whipped, i didn't really feel much discomfort, although there was that one blow where the hooks of the whip caught on jesus's side and the soldier RIPPED a big piece of flesh out! uuggghhh! another thing that made me cringe was every time jesus fell down, the beam of his cross kept crashing down on the crown of thorns on his head! ahhh! and that other crucified guy getting his eye pecked out? eeeeuuuwwwww!!!
i don't know, maybe i'm just de-sensitized to violence, but i really thought the violence in this movie was going to be a lot worse. although the depiction of jesus's beatings is a lot more graphic than other jesus movies, i think in reality, jesus would have looked a lot more fucked up than he was portrayed in the movie.
i also think is was strange in the movie how jesus could keep so quiet all during those long hours of mutilation and disfigurement. he barely made a peep! i would have been screaming my lungs out if i'd been whipped like that. i yell when i stub my fucking toe, let alone being flayed alive.
those devil children - very cool! very crazy looking.
i noticed that whenever there was a close up shot of jesus's face, you can tell the actor is wearing a brown contact lens.
anyways, i think ol' mel gibson did a good job on the movie. i'd say 3 1/2-4 stars. if you're catholic, this movie will move you to tears and make you want to be a better christian, or it'll just make you sick to your stomach. if you're a non believer like me, well, you'll just have to open your mind a little bit and watch it for the story. |
