New site? Maybe some day.
I'm looking to spend between $150 and $200. I've been looking on Amazon and Tiger Direct and there are just TOO many choices. Any recommendations? |

i have a tomtom one....i like i alot.... 99 bucks. I like their software. |
My dad as a Garmin and my friend has a TomTom. I've used both and find the Garmin MUCH more intuitive and easier to follow. I'm pretty sure that the newer Garmins are faster and cheaper than the one my dad has now, too. |
I've use/ a mio, magellan, garmen, and tomtom. the tomtom has awesome "other" services like traffic if you want to pay for it. (or bluetooth through a phone).
garmen have the best interface EXCEPT when scrolling a map. |
I hate with the garmin that it's point and click and not drag when scrolling maps. I also have a 7" screen on my garmin.
The magellan was good for boating, sports, the mio is crap as shit, but so hackable. you can put on tomtom's software on it too. |
I have gps on my phone, it's a verizon envy. I don't know much about other brands or other dedicated gps units, but this phone has been a lifesaver several times. |
Whatever the next step up from a TomTom One is. MSD has one and it is awesome. I've got the TomTom One and have only had 1 problem with it the entire time I've had it, and it only lasted 5 minutes. I'm not sure of all the differences the next step up has, but I know it says street names rather than just saying "take next right" or whatever. The mounting/suction device it has is better than the One as well. |
go to best buy and circuit city and play with them. it's all about the interface. I find my garmin to be getting slower these days. don't know why. |
