I'm in for this. which member of the network was in ookla the mok?
Pete the guitar player was. I hang with one of the singers, Max and got to hear the album again recently. Love that band. Jammed with Max and a few other dudes semi recently. They have some new bands that also rule.
Last time I saw the network, dour was playing at the QVCC and like a minute into the first song, the drummer snapped the hinge on his bass drum pedal and I thought he was gonna choke and then kill a bitch.
Kinda been hoping to see them since the split came out.
Last time I saw the_Network they were about to leave for England, or Canada, or Wisconson, I dunno, someplace foreign and I only caught one song before I ran outside and puked on my foot.
(playing shows while sick and only drinking beer will do that to you).
Pumped for this show.
here's a flyer for a show we're playingn the night after this one:

yes! got here with time to spare. didn't miss machine language. their set sounded ok. it was kind of rough and the mic didn't really work most of the time. im guessing these guys are going to add something to their set to fill the silence between songs.
hivesmasher added a keyboard player. that means that person wasn't a liar. it was loud as fuck. lots of feedback abd just really really loud. I would comment on their songs, but it was just so loud. aaron was wearing a shirt that he stole off a smaller bouncer.
I really wished that hivesmasher set up on the floor. it took the network to do it. They set up on the floor and played music. Similar to the last time I saw them here. All new songs except for 2 of them. It's funny seeing them actually concentrating on getting the music play solidly and less on what they can climb over, jump on to, or scream into. Yeah, it gives me less to take pictures of, but is a better performance.
the_network gave their mic chords to furnace to rock the floor.
Great show! Loud as fuck but lot's of fun. It was nice meeting you Blue, thanks for booking us on Deathfest. Can't wait. Also, those Macho Man Randy Savage Sideburns are quite beastly. Most excellent.
seriously, this was the loudest we've ever been. thanks to everyone for all the great comments and to everyone who didn't throw bar stools at me for my awful comments.
The awful comments are part of the reason I go to Hivesmasher shows. In light of the recent family murders, I was hoping to hear some horrific politically incorrect anecdotes. Unfortunately, I could not go.
the drummer for trap them was none other then mr jef leppard from harlots/today is the day. such a weird playing style. he's spindley and it reminds me of the drummer of the band shellac.
Brad, I totally tried talking to Jef Leopard about you and he stared at me. I went up to him and try chatting about that show you booked with Harlots and TTOS, and he remembered the show, so I was like "I wish Brad could have been here..." (blank stare) "...but I guess he's still in Ohio..." (blank stare) "...you know, the dude that booked that show..." (blank stare) "...ok good luck with your set."
i'm not surprised he didnt remember me (many don't)...but yeah i mean he has JEF LEPPARD tattooed on his chest WTF
also, i'm gettin the fuck out of Ohio next month (GRADUATION FUCK YES) and i'll be in boston for a while until i get enough money to leave so we should hang and shit d00d
I'd like that. I've found that unless I'm serving you coffee I have no social skills anymore, so if you can suffer through that, let's go record shopping or eat Spike's!!
