Is anyone else going to this show? Or is it just going to be me and Crazy Dan surrounded by a bunch of crackheads like in the pictures above? In any case, the pit should be fun!
I started hearing hilarious fail stories about this approximately 3 hours ago.
do tell!

Kenny never showed. Low draw. Bands started late(10:30). Yeti only texted me a few things. I'm sure more details will come in from people who were actually in attendance.

VR may have just started 20 minutes ago if not sooner.

They went on at midnight. Read the text wrong. I'm too drunk to figure out what else went down.

Cover bands never draw as well as the original. Especially when Bova is playing in town same night.
this ended up being a good time, but it was poorly done. the opening bands were so horrendous it was insulting, there are so many bands that would have fit with VR but instead we got What Lies Beneath the Tide which was pre-teens playing kindergarten metal with painfully bad vocals, and i think the other was called Forced Allegiance, which was the worst kind of wanna-be thrash/metalcore imaginable. so after those atrocities everyone was pretty worried that due to the low turnout (30 or so people who were mostly the Metal Thursday regulars) that it was going to be just a bad show. VR saved it, they sounded great, Scott sounds just like Glen Benton. they put on a great performance for the few that were there. i guess this place has the sound equipment from The Compound, and most of the decorations. so overall the 12 bucks was worth it. Kenny Lanning never showed, which is good because he had a pissed off Tony Lazaro waiting for him. The Raven has a lot of potential, its just in a horrible area.
