It just needs a BRD-light scribe drive.

Light Scribe sucks

It took Rusty 2 days to Lightscribe all the HYEO CDs for NEDF. So slow.

Not bad.

Michael Dell is one of my favorite Texas Jews.

lightscribe rules, it's just slow. without lightscribe, rttp wouldnt have a pot to piss in for digital music.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Sep 25,2009 12:07pm
Why do some people think dells are pieces of shit and others say they're really good computers. There's never an in-between. Anyone know why??

toggletoggle post by mIkeofdeCrePitude at Sep 25,2009 12:09pm
Dewd, ur gittin a fuckin Dell

This was exactly what I was going to post.

Dells vary a lot between models and years.

10% cb from bing.. hm... with 8GB of DDR3 1333mhz, this is $2,214 - 10% CB.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 7,2009 10:08am
I'd get it but when I found out that Dell has a secret harddrive partition with Dell crap in it that they don't tell you about.. I decided never to get a Dell again. need moar transparency

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2009 10:26am
yeah, fuck recovery partitions. why anyone would want to be able to recovery a computer back to the state that they originally got the PC?

Anyone with 1/2 a brain would always have known that was. Load from scratch and that's not there.

I'm really looking at this cause I need more horsepower and I use my work dell for processing most of my images. unfortunately, the antivirus on my laptop is sucking shit. It locks up my computer when I'm at home. I end up transferring the pictures to my desktop to work on. When I got to MDF, I will need something like this.

its not that it sucks, it just takes a while (mine takes about 20 minutes/disc)

as far as my experiences with Dells go, everyone I've had is outstanding at first, but they go to shit quicker than most other pre-made PCs

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2009 11:01am
rusty is so correct on one point and so incorrect on the other point.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS  at Oct 7,2009 11:04am
what am I not correct on?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2009 11:27am
how long it takes to lightscribe.
I'm typing this on a 3 1/2 year old dell laptop.
Behind me, I have a 7yo dell that I'm listening to music on.
Beside me, I'm working on a 1yo dell that is a replacement for a 10yo dell desktop which I'm replacing cause 400Mhz is just too slow to do what I need it to do.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS  at Oct 7,2009 11:35am

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2009 1:13pm
all lightscribing take 21 minutes for dark/non-draft. I'm still drooling over this laptop cause my anti-virus is killing my PC.

that one was $999 online last week.
I don't know what I feel about HP's though.
Plus, I wanted the i7-820QM instead of the i7-720QM.
I really wish I could get a i7-920QM with 8GB of RAM and a back-lit keyboard.
Also, 17.3" is too large for my daybag.
