That's not embarrassing. I think Metal Health was my very first vinyl purchase. Actually, I was in 4th grade so mom probably footed the bill for that one.
YES! I liked a some rap when I was between 9 and 11. Wu-Tang was among the groups I liked. I was actually kinda excited to see them for the nostalgic value. There was none to be had. So fucking boring.

I would pay to see Andrew W.K. just for his signature hosing the audience with alcohol.
My biggest guilty pleasure that I could see myself paying for is, honestly, Shakira. I think her 90's and early 00's material is just brilliant as is every live video i've seen of her. "Hips Don't Lie" is by FAR her worst song. (although, her latest album is supposed to be pretty bad too)
As for embarrassing shows i've attended, on the 6th or something of this month(so fresh in my mind) I had to accompany/protect my 13 year old cousin at a Evanescence / Chevelle / Halestorm / Cava show in Boston. Fortunately, her mom paid for my ticket so it was free. And it was second row seats to boot, which surprised me.
i paid to see andrew w.k. but im not really embarrassed cuz it was awesome.
He played at the Coolidge a couple years ago with a string quartet. It was among the most awesome things I've ever witnessed! Party Hard with string quartet & piano ruled

yea hip-hop shows are always the most boring shit ever. They're only fun if you're black/a wigger.
Excellent songwriter, and swears like a trucker during her live sets which is always appealing. Broseph that plays the keys for her is pretty good too.

I saw Busta Rhymes at the Avalon in 99 and had a blast. I dont even like him.
I've paid to see Phish multiple times. Moe. Widespread Panic. Been to a bunch of Warped Tours and Ozzfests. and went to Crue Fest and REO Speedwagon/Styx this summer...no shame.
but the ultimate guilty pleasure I paid to see 2 years ago at Agganis Arena and got shitfaced, teared up and sang every word with my arm around my (now ex)GF the whole time:
I was at a free M.I.A. show for a good 20 minutes at Coney Island a few years ago. I was wasted and it was free and I had no idea what MIA was at the time.
Oh yeah, I did see Phish at Great Woods almost 20 years ago, but I didn't have to drive and was tripping my balls off on some pretty potent acid. My fucked-up-ness made the meandering, pointless songs and dirty shitbag hippy fans tolerable.
I saw coal chamber in like 96. It was some stupid WAAF thing at great woods so there were a lot of terrible bands, but Primus and Machine Head played so I went. I'm pretty sure Static X played before they were famous.

Are you talking about WAAF's big field day at Green Hill Park in Worcester? I know I saw Faith no More with Numetal bands one year and Primus with Numetal bands another year.

yea I think it was called loco bazooka. stupid.
it was. Type O Negative was supposed to play one year too but dropped off.
yeah being embarrassed over things you like is stupid. i've seen ICP over 30 times and will most likely see them again.
actually the only embarrassing act i've seen live is Deftones, because they suck ass.

It makes someone more of a false if they like Nsync but pretend that they don't so as to not be ridiculed by others than to be open about the fact that they like Nsync. Now sexuality might be in question in this instance but certainly not poserdom.

Foo Fighters put on one of the best live shows. Seen them twice and both times they play for 3+ hours. Not to mention Dave Grohl is super high energy the entire time.

I so want to see the Foo Fighters live but I can never justify it money wise, but I can't imagine them putting on a bad show.
A lot of my most "embarrassing" bands/acts I'd like to see live I wouldn't pay for only cus they're usually too expensive. However if they were reasonably priced (say under $20 including fees and what not), then I'd def go!
They play at Hampton Beach Casino like every summer. So get a Krishna haircut and go.
So they ARE back together? I missed the reunion news. Not that I was paying attention. I have, however, seen Live twice ... in different states even! While it's certainly nothing to be proud of, their biggest offense was just being really, really bland. They were exactly what you'd expect out of a typical corporate rock band.

thought about getting a ticket to see jesus and mary chain, partly to meet college rock cougars haha. i guess that qualifies as embarrassing.
I feel like I saw them with Manowar one time. Maybe not, but I definitely saw them at the Palladium opening for SOMETHING good.

also jesus and mary chain are playing at paradise next month. i think its like $30 or $40bux a ticket. i saw them at one of the early lollapaloozas. they were ok, kinda boring live. definitely don't feel like i need to pay good money to see them again.
OK, THIS I would consider paying $75 for, at least for the spectacle.
I'm probably just remembering wrong to tell you the truth, but both shows were around the same time and both were downstairs at the palladium. I did a lot of drugs back then.
I just woke up and looked at this thread, thought we were still talking music, and momentarily had the impression Notshaver wanted to go see old RAC bands. NVR MIND
