Based on the strength of their debut EP and its epic, melancholy lead single, recently formed funeral doom band Vacant Eyes has been named The Best Doom Band In New England, by unanimous vote of the Pitchfork staff. When asked of their thoughts on the announcement, band members OctoJosh and Tim Riley stated that they had "no ego concerning the announcement", and that they were "totally serious." They also stressed that they had "worked hard to build their reputation."
