You prick, you beat me to it while I was searching for the image :*(

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 14,2006 10:23am
yours is much better though.
still waiting for my inspirational ziggy cartoon.

as soon as I'm done the project I'm on, I'm taking a week off from work. I want to hike for two days. I want to swim every day. I want to bike. I want to play video games. I want to fix rttp code and finish projects that I started. I want to replace 4 windows in my condo. I want to redo my back room and clean it out.
hm.. I'm going to need to take a month off I think!

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Aug 14,2006 10:24am
Work is beyond gay. I can't remember the last time I took a day off. Our presses run 24-7, so if there's a problem I have to come in on weekends, in the middle of the night, you name it. I should have gone into porn.

Someday you'll make your living with photography and all the bands here will make our living with music, and then all these off-topic jobs can go fuck themselves.

toggletoggle post by tittytwistedsista at Aug 14,2006 12:42pm
mmmmk buddy

It can be done... I am living proof. I did every variety of shitty job when I entered the workplace, from paper routes to dishwasher to Blimpie's to Taco Bell. I was even the senior programmer of a small website company for a couple of years. But at about 20, I was like fuck this, any way I'm going to make money will involve playing my guitar; that's what I do, that's what I am. My parents were sure I was nuts and would fall flat on my face trying to move out based on just that income. But between teaching guitar, theory, and playing out, I've never had to do anything else in the last seven years. I sure don't make much extra cash, but I love what I do and it doesn't feel like a job, and I've been able use the extra hours I have free to manage/promote my band.

It just takes REALLY GOOD planning and the balls to take the risk, and to reject what society tells you that you have to do to be successful.

hahahaha or a Dilbert one

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 14,2006 12:46pm
dilbert comics come in 2 flavors, mildly depressing and depressing.

ziggies are all inspirationally warm and depressing.

now ziggy the clown? they come in one flavor and that flavor is "wtf?"

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Aug 14,2006 12:49pm
the worst comic ever is The Family Circus

Not necessarily, I lived in my own two bedroom apartment for years.

You just have to budget really well, and learn how to live a month or two BEHIND your budget (get a head start and maintain that buffer zone), unlike most people these days who go into debt living ahead of their budget. I see friends younger than me with ridiculous amounts of credit card debt and I feel really bad for them. Credit cards should only be viewed as a monthly loan with no interest, you have to pay the balance in full every month or they'll fuck you up the ass.

I feel the Revs pain! The older I get, the more I realize, that I hate my job! Just busting yer ass to what, Die? what's the point. ohh and I hate the sun that I work in everyday. So I will trade ya? I wanna be inside with AC going all day!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 14,2006 1:24pm
I wouldn't be able to give you my brains and you wouldn't be able to give me your.. um.. whatever it is that you use.. mainly your ability to loose and then find your wallet. let's just both continue our jobs safe in the fact that we both have rather large dicks.

a man's way is the ONLY way

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Aug 14,2006 4:46pm
umm wrong!
you haven't planned a thing. you pull out random stuff you want to do and then NEVER plan anything. i keep asking what days to take off and you never know...those idiots keep taking advantage of you and you let them. you just whine and then do nothing...you wind up losing your days off.
and for the record i'm always asking aaron what HE wants to do.

sounds all too familiar, haha. if there's one thing i'm NOT good at, it's budgeting. i'm finally almost out of credit card debt, and i realize now that i absolutely HAVE to live within my means, otherwise i'll have to compromise my health insurance, trade in my new car for an old piece of shit, and not have any money at all to save, spend or put into my illustration business.

luckily i have a job that doesn't suck entirely; i get to listen to music all day, don't have to deal with many people and i get paid way too much for what i'm doing, haha. hopefully this whole art thing will work out sooner than later and i'll be able to just draw and paint all fucking day from the privacy of my own home.

Ohh, what is it that I do? I bulid huge buildings out of CMU's in the Extreame conditions of the weather. I am responsable for making sure all the other jackasses build the building to the right specs(Heights, Details and coursing). Though, you may have to use your Brains, I have to use my brains and brawn. I have lots of responsibility, as to not fuck up a mulit million dollar project, with other people following my lead, And that is only because I have been doing this trade(Masonry) for 15+ years. Yeah, I think neither of us could easily trade jobs, but i do often entertain the thought.

My point was, work sucks ass and I have to lie to myself every morning just to get outta bed!
