Reimaging is where it's at. I do it about every month or so for optimal performance against the dreaded "windows rot".

I think he means restoring from an image file made with Ghost or True Image

Then when things get messed up after a month or so you just reimage, restoring it back to how it was when you saved it. Reimaging is also a good way to jew yourself into using free trials for software without having to crack anything. I've been reimaging every 21 days for like a year so I can keep getting my "free 21 day BeyondTV evaluation period" haha.

Ghost is the bomb-dizzle. After four or five supremely frustrating (and data-loss-a-rific) system crashes, I finally did a squeaky-clean Win2000 install (fuck XP) with all the meat-and-potatoes apps installed (WinZip, Acrobat, Powerbar, etc.), and Ghosted that shit to a couple of CDs. Bang - instant recovery disks, w/out all that free trial bullshit that usually comes with OEM restore CDs.

totally, when i reformat I feel like I am king. I need an external hard drive for my lap top...it's starting to slooow
